Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in television and film, is most well-known for her roles in films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At 16years old, she had landed several television roles, including the lead role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially highly successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominees featuring the female diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Over the years Alexandra was involved in numerous notable international and national projects. The British biographical documentary Control the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and the French history miniseries Napoleon are among these. Furthermore, she was an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
